Getting Your Budget Adopted with Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (PBCS)

Public sector finance managers face increased pressure to manage their complex planning and budgeting processes in order to achieve the organization’s financial goals. However, public sector organizations face many challenges during the budget year. These challenges impact the budget development process and make it difficult to deliver a timely and effective budget without a significant burden on the organization’s executives and budget management team.

In order to meet the funding needs for new and existing programs and sustain compliance and regulatory requirements, as well as deliver transparency and accountability, public sector finance teams need a budgeting and forecasting solution that will integrate the processes from beginning to end.

Join us for our webinar as we present a walk through of the budget process from formulation to adoption and how each phase is easily managed in Oracle PBCS. John Regula, our speaker, will present the phases that, when implemented with PBCS, provides the functionality needed to efficiently move the Budget from beginning Goals to Adopted Budget. John will showcase:

  • Calendar & Budget Instructions
  • Anticipated Goals / Budget Requests (Upcoming FY)
  • Current Year Budget Update & 1-Year Forecast (i.e. General Fund)
  • Review / Approval – Department Budgets (i.e. General Fund)
  • Trial Budget & Preliminary Capital Improvement Program
  • Proposed Budget & review
  • Adopted Budget / Authority to Expend Appropriations

Plus, John will share how Oracle PBCS can help you:

  • Reduce budgeting and planning cycles by weeks or months
  • Improve forecast accuracy by gaining visibility into plan/actuals/budget/forecast comparisons
  • Reduce the time spent on creating reports and budget books

About Deanna's session:
Ready.  Set.  Cloud!  Migrating From On-Premise to PBCS
PBCS allows easy install, maintenance and upgrades without big infrastructure investments. See how a client migrated from on premise version 9.3 to Planning and Budgeting Cloud. The project started with a clean-up effort on objects such as forms and reports, then migrated from 9.3 to on a lab environment and then to PBCS using LCM. The ODI interfaces were updated and Business Rules were migrated to Calc Manager. Metadata, over 250 forms and 140 reports were migrated. Not all successfully due to PBCS limitations. Hear about the work-arounds, tips and tricks and how the build and roll-out for this project was completed in 8 weeks.

Strategic Modeling in Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service
Set Targets, Perform Impact Analysis, and Present Focused Financial Information with Strategic Modeling

Would you like to move beyond tactical financial planning to long range target setting? Can you quickly perform what-if scenario modeling? Are you still doing financial modeling and impact analysis in spreadsheets?

Advanced financial models reveal the impacts of strategic decisions on an organization’s bottom line, balance sheet, cash flow, and shareholder value. However, these models cannot be easily developed or maintained in conventional enterprise planning solutions and spreadsheets.

Join us for our webinar featuring the Strategic Modeling product, embedded in Oracle® Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service™ (EPBCS), a feature rich financial forecasting and modeling solution that provides a complete integrated and closed loop solution to set targets, perform impact analysis, and present focused financial information.

Move from spreadsheets and inefficient modeling of your business performance to modeling with integrity and transparency to minimize risk and create efficiencies that address ever-changing market conditions.

Scott Costello, our speaker, will provide a demonstration of the Strategic Modeling product, including how to:

  • Perform on-the-fly “what-if” impact analysis based on dynamic decision variables
  • Arrive at targets that can then be used within other enterprise performance management processes
  • Model cash flow implications of debt
  • Analyze trail feature to visualize model logic
  • Create freestyle professional quality reports

Scott will also show how the Strategic Modeling product integrates strategic planning, treasury and financial modeling activities and how it can be easily deployed and implemented with minimal IT support.
