Strategic Modeling in Oracle EPBCS: Set Targets, Perform Impact Analysis, and Present Focused Financial Information
Would you like to move beyond tactical financial planning to long-range target setting? Can you quickly perform what-if scenario modeling? Are you still doing financial modeling and impact analysis in spreadsheets? Advanced financial models reveal the impacts of strategic decisions on an organization’s bottom line, balance sheet, cash flow, and shareholder value. However, these models cannot be easily developed or maintained in conventional enterprise planning solutions and spreadsheets. This session will feature the Strategic Modeling product embedded in Oracle Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (EPBCS), a feature-rich financial forecasting and modeling solution that provides a complete integrated and closed loop solution to set targets, perform impact analysis, and present focused financial information.

How Do You Do *That* in MDX?
There are numerous ways to get data out of Essbase for reporting and other tasks, but nothing is as powerful or as flexible as MDX. MDX is designed around member sets, and it features several interesting functions for operating within those sets. Have you ever wondered how to get the non-shared members under a shared parent in a shared hierarchy? Have you ever wished you could take each member in a set and get only its children that have a certain user-defined attribute? Do you have requests for ad hoc alternate rollups? Can you export outline information other than member names via MDX? Attend this session to have all of your MDX questions answered.

Profitability and Cost Management in the Cloud: Providing Needed Reporting and Analytics of Business Performance
KaVo Kerr is a cohesive organization comprised of two global leaders united to provide dental excellence and serve as a single premier partner for the dental community. Due to attributes of our General Ledger, KaVo Kerr could not previously complete revenue reporting on a country-by-country basis. This session will showcase how we chose Profitability and Cost Management Cloud Service (PCMCS) over realigning our chart of accounts (a major overhaul). Attendees will learn how the solution provides insight into allocation-based business processes, combining data from our GL and other systems, including Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), in order to match actuals and complete the necessary reporting and analysis of business performance.

Getting Started With Groovy And EPBCS
So you’ve heard about Groovy, and you know about some of the cool things you can do with it in EPBCS. But how do you get started? Is it only for programmers? This session will explore writing Groovy business rules, making the process approachable for anyone who is new to it or hasn’t written code before. Maybe you haven’t heard about Groovy. Did you know that you can add a member on the fly, execute a rule only for dirty cells on a data form, or perform enhanced data validation? You can do all of these and more with Groovy business rules, solving for use cases that standard business rules just aren’t sophisticated enough to handle. Lots of code samples will be provided to help get you started on your own Groovy journey.
