Data Integration Options for EPBCS/PBCS/FCCS
Explore the data integration and automation options available for EPBCS, PBCS and FCCS. Use cases and pros and cons for the methods will be discussed as well as the file format requirements, options and code examples. Use cases include ad hoc and automated/scheduled data loads, moving data from/to BSO and ASO cubes, importing/exporting text accounts and smart list values, migration and disaster recovery. Included will be Data Management, EPM Automate and FDMEE, as well as business rule data exports, export/import data, export/import metadata, Data Synch and Smart Push. Attendees will understand how the EPBCS/PBCS tools replace the functionality of on premise bat and maxl scripts. Example EPM Automate scripts will be reviewed. Tips and tricks will be provided as to when to use which tool and how to automate these tools with EPM Automate.
Ready. Set. Cloud! Migrating From On-Premise to PBCS
PBCS allows easy install, maintenance and upgrades without big infrastructure investments. See how a client migrated from on premise version 9.3 to Planning and Budgeting Cloud. The project started with a clean-up effort on objects such as forms and reports, then migrated from 9.3 to 188.8.131.52 on a lab environment and then to PBCS using LCM. The ODI interfaces were updated and Business Rules were migrated to Calc Manager. Metadata, over 250 forms and 140 reports were migrated. Not all successfully due to PBCS limitations. Hear about the work-arounds, tips and tricks and how the build and roll-out for this project was completed in 8 weeks.
